Description

Engaging local communities throughout the development process is paramount to reducing community push back when siting large scale clean energy projects since opposition can result in lengthy delays and lost revenue. One mechanism that developers can leverage to achieve community buy-in is to incorporate specific community benefits into their projects through the form of Community Benefit Agreements (CBAs). In this session you will hear from developers on how they engage communities when crafting what terms CBAs may include to drive community buy-in, and how the addition of community benefits is justified in overall project costs.
