Each solar project faces its own host of State and Local Tax (SALT) issues. Property tax, sales & use tax, tax on sales of shares, and state income taxes are among many of the state tax costs that can impact solar deals to various degrees from state to state. Sometimes, SALT issues can impact whether or not solar deals are successful.
